How can we help you?
Application: Text Desktop version

You can add shapes of the following types to your documents: line, rectangle, ellipse, triangle, diamond, folded corner, star, heart, brackets, arrows, callouts, and text boxes. Shapes can be added anywhere in the document, except footnotes and comments.

Insert a line

To insert a line into a document, do the following:

1.On the Insert tab, click t_insert_shape Shape. When working in macOS, you can also run the Insert > Shape > Lines command from the command menu.

2.Select the type of line to insert: line, arrow, double-sided arrow. The cursor will look like a crosshair cursor_crosshair.

3.If needed, select the arrowhead type.

4.Add a line in one of the following ways:

Click the left mouse button on the place where the line start point should be located. A line with a length of 4.24 cm and an angle of 45° will be added to the document.

Hold down the left mouse button and draw a line in the desired location of the document. To finish drawing, release the left mouse button.

5.If needed, edit the length and the angle of the line.

By default, the line is inserted before the text. You can change the position of the line manually.

Insert a text box

A text box is text within a frame that can be easily moved within the document you are editing. You can use text boxes for a number of purposes, for example, to create captions for image elements or to add quotations from the main text to draw attention to them.

To insert a text box, do the following:

1.Place the cursor in the place of the document where you want to insert the text box.

2.On the Insert tab, click t_insert_textbox Text box. When working in macOS, you can also run the Insert > Text box command from the command menu.

3.Enter the desired text in the text box. Formatting of text in the text box is done in the same way as formatting of the main text of the document.

4.To deselect a text box, click anywhere in the document outside the text box.
