Footnote is a reference or explanatory information to a word or paragraph of a text.
A distinction is made between footnotes and endnotes. Regular footnotes are placed at the bottom of the page, and endnotes are placed at the end of a section or document.
Footnotes consist of the following elements:
–A footnote mark which is placed immediately after the word or paragraph to which it refers.
–The footnote number and text placed at the end of the page, section or document, under the separator bar following the main text.
