If you are sure that the file is not opened in another program or by another user and is locked by mistake, click Edit in the Open file dialog box.

The file will open in edit mode. Make the required changes.

When saving changes, the application will check that no other users have made edits to the file while it was open. If there are no edits, the changes will be saved in the current document. If there are edits, the application will prompt you to choose one of the following actions: ignore the other user's edits, create a copy of the document, or finish working with the document without saving the changes.

If you are not sure that the file is not open in another program or by another user, in the Open file dialog box, click Open to view.

The document will open in the view mode. To switch to edit mode, do one of the following:

Finish working with the document in another application or ask another user to close the document. Then, in MyText, click Check availability on the Toolbar. If the document is still being worked on, the “Document is still in use” pop-up message will be displayed. If the work is completed, the document will switch to edit mode.

Create an editable copy of the document. To do this, in MyText, on the Toolbar, click Edit a copy. A copy of the document will open in a new application window.
