Application: Text Desktop version

The following restrictions apply in this version of the application:

Tables in the headers and footers cannot be wrapped in text. When such a table is inserted into a header or footer, the text wrapping option is automatically disabled.

If there is a merged cell in the table and a part of this cell is extended to the next page, the data that cell contains is displayed on both pages.

If the text in a cell does not fit vertically on one page, the text that does not fit is cropped.

If one of the users enables or disables text wrapping for a table when collaborating on a document, the changes that the other user makes to the table at that moment are not saved.

To customize the table's text wrapping, follow the steps below:

1.Place the cursor in any cell of the table or select any element of the table/the entire table.

2.Open the table settings window in one of the following ways:

On the Home tab, in the Table group, click t_table_settings Table settings.

Right-click to open the context menu and run the Table settings command.

When working in macOS, run the Format > Table > Table settings command from the command menu.

3.In the Table settings window, select the Wrap text checkbox.

4.Specify the table alignment method and, if necessary, the Left indent.

5.Specify the distance from the table borders to the surrounding text on the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom.

6.Click OK.

If the table spans several pages, text wrapping is applied only to the page with the last part of the table. All the text after the table anchor is transferred to this page.

You can quickly move a table for which you have set up text wrapping to another location in the document. To do this, proceed as follows:

1.Hover the cursor over the table. The table_select_or_move button will be displayed in the upper corner of the table.

2.Hold down the left mouse button on the table_select_or_move button and move the table to the desired place in the document.

When you move a multi-page table wrapped in text, there are the following restrictions:

If you move a table on the same page above its anchor, the table is shifted to the next page.

When you move the table to the next page:

If there is no other content on that page, the anchor is set to the last paragraph in the document. The position of the table is determined relative to the anchor: if it is located below the anchor, it remains on the current page, if it is above, it is moved to the next page.

If there is only a table on the page, but there is other content on subsequent pages, the anchor is set to the paragraph after the table. The position of the table is also determined relative to the anchor.
