New rows are inserted above or below the specified row.
To add one row:
1.Do one of the following:
•Select the row or range of cells in the row above or below which you want to insert a new row.
•Place the cursor in the cell or select the cell in the row above or below which you want to insert a new row.
2.Insert a new row in one of the following ways:
•On the Home tab, in the Table group, click the Insert cell, column, or row drop-down menu button and select
Insert row above or
Insert row below.
•Right-click to open the context menu and run the Insert row above or Insert row below command.
•When working in macOS, run the Format > Table > Insert row above or Insert row below command from the command menu.
•To insert a row above, press Alt+A (Windows, Linux) or Option+A (macOS). Or press Alt+B (Windows, Linux) or
Option+B (macOS) to insert a row below.
To quickly add one row below the last row in the table, use one of the following methods:
•Place the cursor in the last cell of that row and press Tab.
•If the table is not a nested one, select any cell in that row and press Enter.
To add several rows, follow these steps:
1.Select the rows above or below which you want to insert new rows. The number of selected rows should equal the number of rows to insert. For example, if you want to insert two rows, select the two rows. To run the command, you can select both rows as a whole and the cells located in them.
2.Insert a new rows in one of the following ways:
•On the Home tab, in the Table group, click the Insert cell, column, or row drop-down menu button and select
Insert rows above or
Insert rows below.
•Right-click anywhere in the selected range and run Insert rows above or Insert rows below command from the context menu.
•When working in macOS, run the Format > Table > Insert rows above or Insert rows below command from the command menu.
•To insert rows above, press Alt+A (Windows, Linux) or Option+A (macOS). Or press Alt+B (Windows, Linux) or
Option+B to insert rows below.
