The following rules apply to the current version of the MyText application:
–For regular footnotes, continuous numbering is supported throughout the document. For endnotes, either continuous numbering or section numbering is supported, if configured in a third-party text editor.
–Arabic numerals are used in the numbering of regular footnotes. When numbering endnotes, the format i, ii, iii, ... is used, or the format selected when working with the document in a third-party text editor, if this format is supported in the MyText application.
–By default, endnotes are displayed at the end of the document. Display at the end of a section is supported if it is configured in a third-party text editor.
To add a footnote, select a place to insert it in one of the following ways:
–Place the cursor in the required place of the text.
–Select a fragment of text where you want a footnote to appear.
–Position the cursor or select the table cell where you want to add a footnote.
–Select the cell range to which you want to add a footnote. In this case, the footnote character will be placed after the last character of the lower right cell.
If you want to insert a regular footnote, do the following:
–On the Insert tab, click
Footnote.
–When working in macOS, run the Insert > Footnote > Footnote command from the command menu.
–Press Ctrl+Alt+F (Windows, Linux) or ⌥Option+⌘Cmd+F (macOS).
If you want to insert an endnote, do the following:
–On the Insert tab, click
Endnote.
–When working in macOS, run the Insert > Footnote > Endnote command from the command menu.
–Press Ctrl+Alt+E (Windows, Linux) or ⌥Option+⌘Cmd+E (macOS).
A footnote mark appears at the specified position in the document, and the footnote number appears at the bottom of the page, section, or document. Enter the text of the footnote after its number.
If the document contains no other footnotes, the regular footnote is assigned the number 1 and the endnote is assigned the number i when inserted.
If the document contains regular footnotes, the regular footnote is assigned a sequential number corresponding to its position relative to other regular footnotes.
If the document contains endnotes, for the endnote:
–The footnote format of the current document is applied.
–A sequential number that corresponds to its position relative to other endnotes is assigned to the endnote.
