You can quickly clear formatting in the text that is manually done and not related to the formatting style settings. For example, if you manually change the font color to red and the size to 18 in a text with the Normal style, then when you clear the formatting, the text will revert to the Normal style settings: black font and size 14.
To clear custom formatting, follow these steps:
1.Select paragraphs of text:
•To clear formatting in a single paragraph, place the cursor in the paragraph or select the entire paragraph.
•To clear formatting in multiple paragraphs, select them in their entirety.
2.Run the Clear formatting command in one of the following ways:
•On the Home tab, in the Edit group, click
Clear formatting.
•When working in macOS, run the Format > Clear formatting command from the command menu.
•Press Ctrl+Space (Windows, Linux) or ⌃Ctrl+\ (macOS).
