The Search Messages feature performs a targeted search of a specific folder or account. The results are displayed as a list of messages that you can view immediately.

To search for messages in a folder:

1.From the Main Menu, select Edit > Find> Search Messages. The Search Messages window opens.

2.In the Search for messages in list, select the account mailbox or folder you want to search in.

3.If necessary, select the Search subfolders check box.

4.If necessary, select the Run search on server check box.

5.Customize the search query with conditions.

6.Click the Search button to run the search using the customized conditions. The found messages will appear in the list.

7.If necessary, click the Clear button to clear the search conditions.

The buttons at the bottom of the window are available for working with the found messages:

Open: open the message in the message editing window.

Move To: move the message to the selected folder.

Delete: move the message to the Deleted folder.

Open in Folder: go to the original folder of the message.

Save as Search Folder: create a saved search based on the configured conditions.

Global message search

The Global Search feature performs a full-text search across all accounts and folders. Global Search uses indexing for quick access to data and displays results in an expanded, filterable summary.

To search for messages:

1.From the Main Menu, select Edit > Find > Global Search. The Search tab for global message searches opens

2.In the search field in the upper-right corner, type text.

3.Press Enter.

The search will be performed in the following places:

message subjects (headers);

message bodies (content);

sender and recipient addresses (From, To, Cc fields);

attachments (if they are indexed).

Items are available to perform actions on the results:

Filters area: filter the results by type, folder, and people.

Show results as list button: open a list of messages with results.

Toggle timeline button: enable the timeline for date selection.

Sort by Relevance or Sort by Date switch: select the sorting method.
