Folders that can be renamed:
–Custom folders — folders you have manually created can be freely renamed. For example, if you have created a folder called "Work" or "Projects", you can change their names to any other folder.
–Some IMAP mail server folders. If your account is connected via IMAP, you can rename additional folders, as long as they are not system folders.
Folders that cannot be renamed:
–System folders: Inbox, Sent, Drafts, Archive, Trash, Junk. These folders are reserved by the program for basic mail functions, and their names are related to the mail server settings.
–IMAP mail server system folders. When an account is connected using the IMAP protocol, many folders are synchronized with the mail server, and their names are server-specific.
If the Rename Folder menu item is inactive, it means that this folder cannot be changed (most often system or server folders).
To rename a folder:
1.On the Mail tab, on the Folder Pane, from the context menu of the desired folder, select Rename. The Rename Folder window will open.
2.Enter the new name for your folder.
3.Click the Rename button.
After renaming the folder, it may take some time for the changes to synchronize with the server.
