Chat with an AI assistant
The conversation with the AI assistant takes place in a chat. The user sends prompts to the AI assistant in any format. A prompt may involve receiving a text response (“How do I create a new sheet?”) or performing actions in the editor (“Create a new sheet”). The AI assistant processes the prompt, provides a response, and, if necessary, performs the specified actions.

To send a prompt, follow these steps:
1.If you need to use a specific area of the table when submitting a prompt, select that area on the sheet.
2.Click
AI assistant modes and select a mode:
–Chat answers only: The AI assistant can engage in a chat conversation but cannot make changes to the document.
–Answers and editing: The AI assistant can engage in a chat conversation and make changes to the document. This mode is unavailable if the document is open in view mode.
3.Enter a prompt.
4.Click
Send or press Ctrl+Enter (Windows, Linux) or ⌘Cmd+A (macOS).
5.Wait for the prompt to be processed and the response to be generated.
If necessary, you can pause the prompt processing. To do this, click
Stop.
To resume the process, click Retry, which appears in the chat below the pending request.
If you want to copy the AI assistant's response, do one of the following:
–Click
Copy under the response.
–Select part of the answer or the entire answer, then press Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert (Windows, Linux), or ⌘Cmd+C (macOS).
You can undo and redo the document editing actions performed by the AI assistant.
Chat management
You can chat with the AI assistant in multiple chats.
To create a new chat, do one of the following:
–Click the
button.
–Click the
button. Above the list of chats, click Create chat.

Chat names are generated by an AI assistant. If you want to rename a chat, hover your mouse cursor over its name, click the
button, and make the necessary changes.
To open a chat, click it in the list.
To delete a chat, hover your mouse over its name and click the
button. Any changes made by the AI assistant while working in that chat will remain in the document.

Summarization
In chats where the amount of text exceeds the allowed limit, automatic summarization is performed. This is a process during which the AI assistant retains the key information from the chat conversation while omitting minor details. The appearance of the conversation remains unchanged for the user, but summarization may affect the accuracy of the AI assistant’s responses.
A notification about the summarization process is sent to the chat. During summarization, all controls are disabled except for the mode selection button. The summarization process cannot be interrupted.
Close the AI assistant
To close the AI assistant, click the
button in the pane title bar. Please note that closing the pane will stop the prompt from being processed.
When you close the document, the chat history is not saved.
