Once you've finished working with a file, save it and close the application window. Do any of the following:
–Click the 
button and run the Close command from the main menu.
–When working in macOS, run the File > Close command from the command menu.
–Click 
Close in the application window title bar.
–Press Alt+F4 (Windows, Linux) or ⌘Cmd+Q (macOS).
