If the sheet is protected from editing, the sheet_tabs_protection icon is displayed on the sheet tab. To remove the protection, you may need to enter a password.

To remove the protection from the sheet, follow these steps:

1.Open the Manage protection pane in one of the following ways:

Switch to the sheet and, on the Protection tab, click t_protection_sheeeit_unguard Unprotect sheet.

Right-click the sheet tab and select Unprotect sheet from the context menu.

When working in macOS, switch to the sheet and select the Data > Manage protection > Unprotect sheet command from the command menu.

2.In the Manage protection pane, on the Sheet tab:

If the sheet is password-protected, enter the password and click Unprotect.

If the sheet is not password-protected, click Unprotect.

3.To close the Manage protection pane, do one of the following:

At the top of the pane, click side_panel_search_close.

On the Sidebar, click side_panel_protection Manage protection.
