You can delete text using the command or keyboard keys.
To delete any part of the text using the command, do the following:
1.Select the text to delete.
2.On the Home tab, in the Edit group, click
Delete.When working in macOS, you can also run the Edit > Delete command from the command menu.
To delete one or more characters using the keyboard keys, do one of the following:
–If the cursor is after the characters, press Backspace (Windows, Linux) or Delete (macOS) repeatedly.
–If the cursor is positioned before the characters, press Delete (Windows, Linux) or Fn+Delete (macOS) repeatedly.
To delete a part of a word or a word using the keyboard keys, do one of the following:
–If the cursor is positioned after part of a word or a word, press Ctrl+Backspace (Windows, Linux), ⌘Cmd+Delete or ⌥Option+Delete (macOS).
–If the cursor is positioned before a word or part of a word, press Ctrl+Delete (Windows, Linux), ⌘Cmd+Fn+Delete or ⌥Option+Fn+Delete (macOS).
To delete a text fragment using the keyboard, select it and press Delete or Backspace (Windows, Linux), Delete or Fn+Delete (macOS).
