To quickly navigate through the sections of the document, use the Navigation pane.
To open the pane, do one of the following:
–On the left sidebar, click
Navigation.
–Press Ctrl+Shift+N (Windows, Linux) or ⌘Cmd+⇧Shift+N (macOS).
The Navigation pane displays all document headings to which heading styles have been applied. Headings in tables, shapes, and headers and footers are not displayed.
The title of the section where the cursor is currently positioned is automatically selected. To go to another section, click its heading. The document will scroll to the corresponding section.

To quickly find a heading, start typing any part of that heading in the search bar. As you type characters, the Navigation pane will display headings that match your search criteria. For each heading found, the entire chain of parent headings is displayed.
To clear your search results, click the
button in the search bar.
To collapse or expand all headings, right-click anywhere in the Navigation pane and select the Collapse all or Expand all command from the context menu.
To expand all headings to a specific level, right-click anywhere in the Navigation pane, select the Expand up to level command from the context menu, and specify the desired heading level.
To collapse or expand a single heading to the next level, click the

arrow to the left of that heading.
To increase or decrease the width of the Navigation pane, do one of the following:
1.Hover your mouse cursor over the border between the Navigation pane and the workspace.
2.Drag it to the right or left.
To close the Navigation pane, do one of the following:
–At the top of the pane, click
Close.
–On the left sidebar, click
Navigation.
