To quickly view the code for one or more fields in a document, follow these steps:
1.Select the required fields or the text that contains the fields.
2.Run the display code command in one of the following ways:
•Right-click the selected fields or text to open the context menu. If one field or text with one field is selected, run the Show / Hide field code command, if text with several fields is selected, run the Show / Hide field codes command.
•Press Shift+F9.
To view the codes of all fields in the document, when working in Windows or Linux, press Alt+F9. When working in macOS, press Option+F9.
To return to the field values display, follow the above steps again.
The following rules apply when working with field codes:
•If the command is run for several fields that are in different modes (some fields display codes and others display values), all selected fields are switched to the mode opposite to the mode of the first selected field.
•The fields are not updated when the command is run.
•When you are printing or saving a document as a PDF, all fields display values, not codes.
•If an error is displayed in any field, the error text is displayed both for printing and in the document saved in .pdf format.
In the current version of the application, editing the field code in the document text is not available. When you click the code with the mouse, the window for setting the field parameters opens.
