A cross-reference is a reference to an element in another part of the document. In MyOffice Text, you can create a cross-reference to the following items heading, numbered list item or bookmark.
1.Place the cursor where you want to insert a cross-reference. 2.Open the cross-reference window in one of the following ways: •In the Command menu, select > . •On the Toolbar, click the button and in the drop-down list select . 3.In the window, select the drop-down list and select the elements to which the reference will lead: , or . 4.In the box, select the specific element you want the reference to refer to. This box will contain the list of all elements of the reference type selected during the previous step. The list will be generated automatically. If the type was selected, check the check box at the bottom of the window to display system bookmarks in the list. 5.In the drop-down list, specify the numeric or text value of the cross-reference. The list of values depends on the previously selected element type. For the , select one of the following values: • Heading text. • The number of the page where the selected heading is located. • A short number of the heading which is an item of a multilevel list. Example: The reference to heading 1.с.ii will look like ii. • A full number of the heading which is an item of a multilevel list. Example: 1.с.ii. •The word “above” if the heading is above the cross-reference, or “below” if the heading is located below the cross-reference. The position of the heading is identified automatically. For the , select one of the following values: •The number of the page where the selected list item is located. •A short number of the multilevel list item. Example: 1.с.ii item will be presented as ii. • A full number of the multilevel list item. Example: 1.с.ii. • The text of the list item. •The word “above” if the selected item list is above the cross-reference, or “below” if the item list is located below the cross-reference. The position of the item list is identified automatically. For the , select one of the following values: •The text fragment where the bookmark has been set. This value can only be selected for the bookmarks in the selected text but not where the cursor is positioned. •Page numbers: The number of the page where the selected bookmark is located. • A short number of the multilevel list item where the bookmark is positioned. Example: 1.с.ii item will be presented as ii. •A full number of the multilevel list item where the bookmark is positioned. Example: 1.с.ii. •The word “above” if the bookmark is above the cross-reference, or “below” if the bookmark is located below the cross-reference. The position of the bookmark is identified automatically. 6.Click . If a cross-reference is incorrect, the symbol will be displayed instead.
To insert other cross-references, repeat the procedure. You can continue to work with the main application window while you enter the cross-reference parameters. To close the window, click in the window title. |

Cross-references are updated automatically. |
To modify the existing cross-reference, delete it as described in the section and add a new cross-reference as described in the section. |
To delete a cross-reference, select it by clicking it with the mouse and press (+). |
