Styles allow you to quickly apply consistent formatting (font, size, color, alignment) to headings, paragraphs, notes, and other text elements. The editor has a set of preset styles.
The current style is displayed on the toolbar on the Home tab in the Styles group. Text entered after the cursor automatically takes on the selected style.
Apply a style
1.Place the cursor in the required paragraph or select several paragraphs.
2.In the Styles group, select one of the styles displayed in the panel. If you don't see the style you want, click the … More button and select the appropriate one.
Create a new style
To create a custom style for reuse:
1.Apply the desired formatting to any piece of text and select it.
2.In the Styles group, click the … More button.
3.At the bottom of the menu, select Create new style.
The new style will appear in the styles gallery. If you move the cursor over its name, a tooltip with formatting options (size, font) is displayed.
To quickly create a style, you can also use the Create new style item in the context menu.
Edit a created style
To change the parameters of an existing custom style:
1.Select the text fragment to which the style is applied.
2.Make the necessary changes to its formatting.
3.In the Styles group, click the … More button, move the cursor over the style in the list and click the Update style to match selection button.
All text fragments to which this style has been applied will be changed automatically.
Delete a created style
1.Select the text fragment with the style you want to delete.
2.In the Styles group, click the … More button, move the cursor over the style in the list, and click Delete style.
3.Confirm the deletion in the warning dialog box.
After deleting a style, all text that has been applied to it will automatically revert to the Normal style.
Delete all created styles
To clear the list of all custom styles:
1.In the Styles group, click … More.
2.At the bottom of the menu, select Style settings and then Delete all created styles.
3.Confirm the action in the dialog box.
