Bookmarks in the application help you quickly navigate to important places in your document, just like bookmarks in a book. They can be placed on text fragments, tables (and their elements: rows, columns, cells), images, headers and footers.
Bookmarks panel
All actions with bookmarks are performed in the Bookmarks panel. You can open it in two ways:
–On the Insert tab, click the Bookmark button.
–Click the Bookmarks button on the sidebar.
Create a bookmark
1.Place the cursor in the desired location in the document or select an object.
2.Open the Bookmarks panel.
3.In the Bookmark name field on the panel, specify a unique name for the bookmark. The name must not be the same as an existing one.
4.Click the Add button or press the Enter key. The new bookmark appears in the list.
To see the bookmark characters (Y) in the text of the document, enable the display of non-printable characters (Home > Paragraph > ).
Navigate through bookmarks
1.Open the Bookmarks panel. The list displays all the bookmarks you have created.
2.Click the name of the desired bookmark. The cursor will instantly move to its location in the document.
Sort bookmarks
You can sort the bookmarks in the list:
–By location — in order from top to bottom in the document.
–By name — in alphabetical order (from A to Z).
System bookmarks
Some bookmarks are created automatically by the application. To see them in the list, check the Show system bookmarks checkbox at the bottom of the panel. Their names begin with an underscore character (for example, _Bookmark1).
Rename a bookmark
1.Move the cursor over a bookmark in the list.
2.Click the Edit button.
3.Type a new name.
4.Press Enter.
Delete a bookmark
1.Hover the cursor over a bookmark in the list.
2.Click Delete.
