Customize shape appearance

You can customize the appearance of individual shapes.

Appearance customization tools

You can customize the settings for Shape fill and Shape outline on the Home tab, in the Shape group. The buttons display an option for quick application.

Quickly apply the appearance

1.Select the shape.

2.Click the desired tool button itself.

Customize the shape fill

1.Select the shape.

2.Click the arrow next to the Shape fill button.

3.In the menu that opens, choose a color from the palette, your own color via the More colors section, or an image via the Image section.

4.If you want to remove the fill, select the No fill option.

Customize the shape outline

1.Select the shape.

2.Click the arrow next to the Shape outline button.

3.In the menu that opens, choose the color, thickness, and type of line.

4.If you want to remove the outline, select the No outline option.

If the outline is removed, there will be a light gray frame around the object. It is not output to print or PDF.
