You can choose how the image or shape is positioned relative to the text. The default setting is In line with text.
To change how an image or shape is surrounded by text, select the object, then use one of the methods:
–On the Home tab, in the Image, Shape, or Line group, click Text wrapping and select the desired option.
–In the context menu, select the desired option from the Wrap text list.
Text wrapping options
–In line with text — the object is embedded in the text as part of it. The text is interrupted before the object and continues after it.
–Square — the text flows around the object along a rectangular contour (frame).
–Top and bottom — the text breaks at the top border of the object and continues below it.
–In front of text — the object is placed on top of the text and can overlap it.
–Behind text — the object is placed behind the text, acting as a background.
Aligning an image or shape in the text
You can horizontally align In line with text objects using the buttons on the Home tab, in the Paragraph group:
– Align left.
– Center.
– Align right.
If the object is not separated from the text by paragraph indents, the selected alignment will be applied to the text in the same paragraph.
