Adjustable alignments, spacings, and indents are used to organize text according to your preferences. Use them to organize the text as you like.
By default, some text parameters are preset. To change them while editing the file, select the text you want to change the settings of before executing the commands.
Line spacing is the vertical space between the lines of a paragraph. You can adjust the spacing for the entire text or for individual paragraphs. You can set line spacing parameters before entering the text. The text entered after the place where the cursor is positioned will be displayed with the line spacing according to your preferences.
To adjust the line spacing, do the following: 1.Select the text where you want to change the line spacing. 2.On the Toolbar, click the button which displays the current line spacing. Or select Format > Paragraph > Line spacing. 3.In the drop-down list, select the line spacing you want to apply. |
When selecting the paragraph settings, you can adjust the following: •Left or right indent •Top or bottom indent •First line indent You can set the paragraph spacing and indents before entering the text. The text entered after the place where the cursor is positioned will be displayed with the paragraph spacing and indents according to your preferences.
To quickly increase the left or right indent of a paragraph, do one the following: •Use To change the indent of one paragraph, place the cursor anywhere in that paragraph. To change the indent of several paragraphs, select these paragraphs. To set the exact paragraph spacings and indents, do the following: 1.On the Toolbar, click 2.In the opened menu, specify the desired values: •First Line: The distance from the left margin of the document to the first line in the paragraph taking into account the indent on the left. •Left Indent: The distance from the left margin of the document to the paragraph. •Right Indent: The distance from the right margin of the document to the paragraph. •Spacing Before: The distance from the previous paragraph. •Spacing After: The distance to the next paragraph. |
To align text horizontally, do the following: 1.Select the text that you want to align. 2.On the Format menu, select Alignment.
