Slides designed to show textual information contain Text type boxes (text placeholders). As text in presentations is most often formatted as lists, the default list style is applied to text placeholders. Thus, the text in the placeholder is entered straight away as a list. If necessary, you can change the list in the placeholder or convert it to text.
You can also create lists manually in any other objects in the presentation. For example, in shapes or tables.
To create a list, follow these steps:
1.Specify the location/text/object to create the list:
•To start a list on an empty line, place the cursor in it.
•To start a list inside an object without text (except for a table), select the object.
•To create a list from a single paragraph, place the cursor in the paragraph or select the entire paragraph.
•To create a list of multiple paragraphs, select them in their entirety.
•To create a list from text within an object, select the object.
2.Open the list settings pane in one of the following ways:
•On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click the arrow to the right of the
Bulleted list,
Mixed list or
Numbered list button (see the example in the figure below).
•Right-click to open the context menu and select the List command.
•When working in macOS, run the Format > List command from the command menu.
3.Select the style of the list.

The application saves the last selected style for a bulleted, numbered, or mixed list.
To quickly create a new list in the same style as the previous one, select a location, text, or object as described above.
To create a mixed list, on the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click
Mixed list.
To create a bulleted list, do one of the following:
–On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click
Bulleted list.
–Press Ctrl+Shift+8 (Windows, Linux) or ⇧Shift+⌘Cmd+8 (macOS).
To create a numbered list, do one of the following:
–On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click
Numbered list.
–Press Ctrl+Shift+9 (Windows, Linux) or ⇧Shift+⌘Cmd+9 (macOS).
If there are no lists in the document, the default is to create a list in the style presented first in the list of bulleted, mixed, or numbered lists.
