You can create an empty table and fill it, as well as convert a selected text fragment into a table.

You can insert a table anywhere in the document, except for cells of existing tables.

Insert a blank table

1.Place the cursor in the place of the document where you want to insert a table.

2.On the Insert tab, click the Table button.

3.In the opened template, select the number of rows and columns by moving the cursor over the template cells.

Once inserted, the table will occupy the entire width of the page between the margins. Columns and rows will have the same width and height, which can be changed after creation.

Convert text to a table

1.Highlight the piece of text you want to convert.

2.Follow steps 2 and 3 of the instructions above to insert a table.

A table with the specified number of columns will appear in the document. Each paragraph of selected text will be placed in a separate cell. Cells are filled from left to right and top to bottom.
