Changes made in the document are displayed on the review panel, an additional field to the right of the document.
Input, formatting, and deletion of various content elements are recorded in the document.
Changes made to footnote text are not recorded.
Elements on the review panel
Each correction on the panel is displayed as an element that contains:
–A brief description of the change.
–The avatar of the user who made the correction.
–A dashed line indicating the location of the correction in the document.
Changes display modes
To change the display mode of corrections, use the Changes menu on the Review tab.
–Markup changes: all changes are highlighted in the text in color. If there are multiple editors, a different color is used for each. All unprocessed changes are displayed on the review panel. If the mode is off, changes are not highlighted in color, but remain visible in the text.
–Display document with changes: the document displays the content with unprocessed and accepted changes. The review panel is hidden.
–Display original document: the document displays the content without changes. The review panel is hidden. When you make new edits, this mode is automatically turned off.
View details of a change
–To open a detailed description of a change, click on it on the review panel. The description shows the author's name, the date of the change, and the text. If the modified text exceeds five lines, the first five lines and the Show more button are displayed. Clicking the button allows you to view the text in its entirety.
–To collapse the detailed description, left-click anywhere in the document.
Navigating through changes
To quickly navigate through changes or comments (both on the Review panel and on the toolbar), use the Previous or Next buttons on the Review tab or keyboard shortcuts:
–Ctrl+Alt+Shift+N (Cmd+Option+Shift+N) to go to the next change or comment.
–Ctrl+Alt+Shift+P (Cmd+Option+Shift+P) to go to the previous change or comment.
Accept or reject a single change
1.Select a change on the review panel.
2.Use one of the methods:
•On the review panel, click ✓ Accept change or ✗ Reject change.
•On the Review tab, click Accept or Reject.
•Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+Shift+A (Cmd+Option+Shift+A) to accept or Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R (Cmd+Option+Shift+R) to reject.
If you need to accept or reject only a part of the change (for example, a single word in a modified sentence), first select the required fragment in the document text with the mouse and then follow step 2.
Accept or reject all changes in the document
1.Click the Review tab.
2.Click the arrow under the Accept or Reject button.
3.From the drop-down menu, select Accept all changes or Reject all changes.
