You can add an image from a file or from the clipboard.

Insert an image from a file

1.Place the cursor where you want to paste the image.

2.Use one of the methods:

On the Insert tab, click the Image button.

Drag an image file from a folder on your computer into the document area.

3.In the system window that opens, select the file and click Open.

You can insert only one file at a time.

Paste an image from the clipboard

1.Copy an image to the clipboard (for example, from another application or by taking a screenshot).

2.Place the cursor where you want to paste the image.

3.Paste the image in one of the following ways:

Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+V (Cmd+V).

On the Home tab, in the Edit group, click Paste Paste.

From the context menu, select Paste.

Features of pasting from clipboard

To paste via the context menu, the browser may request permission to access the clipboard.

An image copied to the clipboard as a file is only supported for pasting using the keyboard shortcut.

Mozilla Firefox browser supports pasting from the clipboard only via keyboard shortcuts.

Copy an image to a third-party application

1.Select an image in the document.

2.Copy it to the clipboard (for example, using Ctrl+C).

3.Go to the desired application and paste the image using its commands (for example, Ctrl+V).

Features of copying to another application

When pasting into a Microsoft Office document, it is recommended to use the Special Paste command to select the format.

If you copy an image and text from a document at the same time, only the text will be pasted into Microsoft Office. Copy images individually.

The image is pasted at its original size and converted to PNG format. Formatting properties (text transposition, rotation, etc.) are not preserved.

This operation is not supported in Mozilla Firefox, Sputnik and older Chromium-based browsers.
