Comments are useful when several users are working on the simultaneously or alternately. They can share their ideas and remarks on a document as comments. In addition, users can reply to each other's comments and create the entire discussion threads on specific pieces of text or questions.

The following limitation are currently in place:

Comments and threads are not printed out.

No notifications when a comment or reply changes.

The discussion thread may break and appear as separate comments if the document was opened and saved: in a third-party text editor, in a web or mobile MyOffice Text applications, in a desktop MyOffice Text editor earlier than version 2.7

Comment display mode

By default, all comments in the document are displayed. You can change the way the comments are displayed in the same way as changing the tracking changes mode.

Add a comment

1.Put the cursor where you want to add a comment. Or select a text you want to comment on.

2.Switch to the comment mode in one of the following ways:

In the Command menu, click Insert > Comment.

On the Toolbar, select the Insert section and click t_insert_comment Comment.

On the Toolbar, select the Insert section and click t_more. In the opened insert pane, click t_insert_comment_smallComment.

Right-click the text or selected content and click Comment on the shortcut menu.

3.Enter the desired text in the comment box.

4.If you want to cancel entering a comment, press the Esc key. If you want to save the comment, do one of the following:

In the comment field, click the Save button.

Click anywhere in the document.

Press commandCmd+enterEnter.

Empty comments are automatically deleted.

Long comments are displayed in abbreviated form on the Reviewing pane. To view the full text of a comment, select it by clicking it.

Reply to a comment

The responses to the comment are displayed in chronological order. You can only reply to a comment, adding an answer to an answer is not allowed.

To respond to a comment, follow these steps:

1.Select a comment to reply in one of the following ways:

Click the comment or any reply to it.

Go to the comment using the buttons editor_changes_next_icon Next Change or Comment and editor_changes_previous_icon Previous Change or Comment located on the Toolbar, in the Review section.

If the cursor is set on the Reviewing pane, navigate to the comment using the keyboard keys ↓ and ↑.

2.In the comment response field, enter the text you want to insert.

3.If you want to cancel entering the answer, press Esc. If you want to save the response, do one of the following:

In the response field, click Save.

Click anywhere in the document.

Press Ctrl command Cmd+enterEnter.

Empty answers are automatically deleted.

Long comments and answers are displayed on the Reviewing pane in an abbreviated form. To display the full text of a comment and all the answers to it, click the comment or any of the answers.

If the thread contains more than two replies, it is automatically minimized and only the first and last responses are displayed on the Reviewing pane. To expand the thread, click on the separator Show n more replies.

If the thread becomes longer than the page height when unfolding, the and buttons are displayed on the Reviewing pane to go to the beginning and end of the thread review_panel_upreview_panel_down.

To collapse the thread, do one of the following:

Click anywhere in the document outside of the thread.

Click on another comment or thread.

Navigate to another comment or thread using the Next Change or Comment and Previous Change or Comment buttons editor_changes_next_iconeditor_changes_previous_icon located on the Toolbar in the Review section.

Navigate to another comment or thread using the keyboard keys ↓ and ↑.

Navigate between comments

To quickly navigate between comments and threads, use the buttons editor_changes_next_icon Next Change or Comment and editor_changes_previous_icon Previous Change or Comment, on the Toolbar, in the Review section.

Filter the comments

Using filters, you can hide or display comments of selected reviewers on the Reviewing pane.

To filter comments, follow these steps:

1.Open the comment filtering window using one of the following methods:

In the Command menu, select Tools > Review Mode > Filter Comments.

On the Toolbar, select Insert section and clickt_review_filter_comments Filter Comments.

On the Toolbar, select Insert section and click the arrow to the right of the Filter Comments buttont_review_filter_comments and select Filter Comments from the drop-down list.

2.In the Filter Comments window, uncheck Select All.

3.Check the boxes of the reviewers whose comments you want to display on the Reviewing pane.

4.If the list contains a large number of reviewers, use the search bar:

Enter part of the name or the full name of the reviewer in the search bar.

In the search results, check the box of the reviewer whose comments you want to display on the Reviewing pane.

If necessary, repeat the steps to find and mark other reviewers.

5.Click OK.

To return to displaying the comments of all reviewers, do one of the following:

On the Toolbar, in the Review section, click the arrow to the right of the Filter Comments buttont_review_filter_comments and select Clear Filter from the drop-down list.

Open the Filter Comments window as described above, check the Select All box and click OK.

The following limitations currently apply:

When you run the Delete All Comments command, all comments in the document are deleted, even if filtering is enabled.

The Filter Comments window does not display the names of reviewers whose comments have been deleted.

The Filter Comments window does not dynamically update data on changes in the number of comments and the list of reviewers.

Edit a comment or reply

To edit a comment or reply, follow these steps:

1.Select a comment or reply in one of the following ways:

Hover the mouse cursor over the comment or reply field. In the upper-right corner, click panel_comment_edit_icon_hover Edit.

Select the comment or reply field by double-clicking.

2.Change the text of the comment or reply.

3.If you want to cancel the changes, press Esc. If you want to save your changes, do one of the following:

In the comment or response field, click Save.

Click anywhere in the document.

Press Ctrl command Cmd+enterEnter.

Empty comments and replies are automatically deleted.

Copy, cut, and paste a comment or a thread

Comments and threads can be cut, copied, and pasted within the same document or between documents MyOffice Text.

To cut or copy a comment or a thread, select the entire text or element to which they relate. When cutting or copying a part of the text, comments and threads are not cut or copied.

Copying, cutting, and pasting commented text or an elements are performed in standard ways.

Delete a comment or reply

The comment is deleted along with the responses to it.

To quickly delete a comment, hover the mouse cursor over it and click Delete in the upper-right corner of the comment panel_comment_delete_icon_hover.

You can also do the following to delete a comment:

1.Select a comment in one of the following ways:

Click the comment or any reply to it.

Go to the comment using the buttons editor_changes_next_icon Next Change or Comment and editor_changes_previous_icon Previous Change or Comment located on the Toolbar, in the Review section.

If the cursor is set on the Reviewing pane, navigate to the comment using the keyboard keys ↓ and ↑.

2.Delete the comment in one of the following ways:

On the Toolbar, in the Review section, click editor_comment_delete_icon Delete comment.

On the Toolbar, in the Review section, click the arrow to the right of the Delete Comment button editor_comment_delete_icon and select Delete Comment.

In the upper-right corner of the comment, click panel_comment_delete_icon_hover Delete.

To delete a comment, you can also switch to its editing mode as described above, completely delete the comment text and click Save or click anywhere in the document.

To delete all comments in a document, follow these steps:

1.On the Toolbar, in the Review section, click on the arrow to the right of the Delete Comment button editor_comment_delete_icon.

2.In the drop-down list, select Delete All Comments.

To delete a reply, follow these steps:

1.Hover the mouse cursor over the answer or select the thread with the answer in one of the following ways:

Click anywhere in the chain.

Navigate to the chain using the Next Change or Comment and Previous Change or Comment buttons editor_changes_next_iconeditor_changes_previous_icon located on the Toolbar in the Review section.

If the cursor is set on the Reviewing pane, navigate to the thread using the keyboard keys ↓ and ↑.

2.In the upper-right corner of the required reply, click panel_comment_delete_icon_hover Delete.
