Headers and footers display repeating information at the top or bottom of the page. The information in the headers and footers is duplicated for each page of the document.

You can insert and edit text, tables, images, links, and comments into the header and footer.

Comments in the header and footer are saved only when you select .odt or .xodt file format. If the .docx format is selected when saving the document, these comments are automatically deleted.

To add information into header or footer, do the following:

1.Go to the header and footer editing mode in one of the following ways:

In the Command menu, select Insert > Header and Footer.

On the Toolbar, select the Insert section and click t_more. On the displayed insert pane, click t_insert_headers_and_footers Header and Footer.

Place the cursor over the top or on the bottom of the page. When the cursor changes to editor_add_header_footer_icon, double-click.

2.Add the information to the header/footer area. You can enter text or insert an object.

3.To exit the header/footer editing mode, double-click the text contained in the document or click t_add_exception_icon.
