You can quickly move text to another location in the document with the mouse.
The following rules apply when moving text:
–Text can only be moved within a single document.
–Text can be moved to an empty line if it contains a non-printable end-of-paragraph character.
–Text cannot be moved to a footnote.
–Text cannot be moved to a header or footer, shape, or floating table, as double-clicking is required to switch to text editing mode within these elements. Similarly, text cannot be moved from a header or footer to the main document.
To cut and move text, follow these steps:
1.Select the text.
2.Drag it to the desired location in the document while holding down the left mouse button.
To copy and move the text, follow these steps:
1.Select the text.
2.Press Ctrl (Windows, Linux) or ⌘Cmd (macOS).
3.Drag the text to the desired location in the document while holding down the left mouse button.
If you scroll through a document using the mouse wheel, to copy and move text, do the following:
1.Select the text.
2.Hover the cursor over it and hold down the left mouse button.
3.Scroll to the desired location in the document and move the cursor there.
4.Press Ctrl (Windows, Linux) or ⌘Cmd (macOS) and release the left mouse button.
