If you change the source data in your table, the pivot table must be updated to reflect those changes.
To update a pivot table:
1.Select any cell within the pivot table that you want to update.
2.Perform the update in one of the following ways:
•On the Home tab, in the Pivot table group, click Refresh pivot table.
•Right-click the selected cell and choose Refresh pivot table from the shortcut menu.
The data in the pivot table will be updated.
Loss of properties warning Sometimes during an update, you may see a warning that some pivot table settings (such as non-standard formatting) will be reset. –To continue with the data update, click the button to update anyway. –To cancel the update and keep the current settings, click Cancel. Update error If the pivot table cannot be built correctly after changes to the source data (for example, there are errors in the data or the structure is broken), the operation will abort and you will see an error message. To clear the error: 1.Close the message box. 2.Check and correct the source data (make sure there are no blank cells in the headers and the data is in the correct format). 3.Attempt to update the pivot table again. |
