Insert current date or time

To insert the current date, do the following:
1.Select the cell or the range where you want to insert the current date.
2.Insert the date in one of the ways:
•In the Command menu, select Insert > Date.
•On the Toolbar, click the 
More button and in the drop-down list select Date.
•Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + ; (
Cmd + ;).
To insert the current time, do the following:
1.Select the cell or the range where you want to insert the current time.
2.Insert the time in one of the ways:
•In the Command menu, select Insert > Time.
•On the Toolbar, click the More button and in the drop-down list select Time.
•Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Shift + ; ( Cmd + 
Shift + ;).
If there is data in the cell or range of cells selected to insert the date or time, it will be replaced.
