How can we help you?

You can create bulleted and numbered lists and manage their nesting levels. In bulleted lists, each list is marked with a symbol (marker), in numbered lists — with a number or letter.

The BulletedList List button and the indentation buttons are located on the Home tab, in the Paragraph group.

Create a list

1.Select the text you want to convert to a list, or place the cursor on a new line.

2.Click the BulletedList List button.

3.If you want to select a specific marker style or number format, click the arrow to the right of the BulletedList List button and select the appropriate style.

Creating a multi-level list

Any list can have multiple levels of nesting.

To increase the indentation (create a sub-level):

1.Position the cursor at the beginning of a list item.

2.Press the Tab key or click IndentIncrease Increase indent.

To decrease the indentation (go back a level higher):

1.Position the cursor at the beginning of the list item.

2.Press the IndentDecrease Reduce indent button.

Each list style provides a design for the first three levels of nesting. On the fourth and subsequent levels, the markers or numbering will be repeated.

Convert a list to plain text

To clear the formatting of the list:

1.Select the desired items in the list.

2.Click the arrow to the right of the BulletedList List button.

3.In the menu that opens, select the No bullets option.
