To select a single object (text box, image, shape, table), click it.
You can select multiple objects at the same time, even if they are of different types. Select multiple objects To select multiple objects, use one of the following methods: –Hold down the left mouse button on an empty space and move the cursor around the desired objects. –Hold down the Ctrl (Cmd) key, then click the desired objects. Select all objects To select all objects on a slide, use one of the following methods: –On the Home tab, in the Edit group, click –Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+A (Cmd+A). Deselect objects To deselect one or more objects, hold down the Ctrl (Cmd) key, then click on the objects you don't need. To deselect all objects, press the Esc key or click an empty space on the slide. |
When multiple objects are selected on a slide, commands are applied to them according to the following rules. Applying commands to selected objects –To all selected objects — if the command changes properties common to different types of objects. Example: With a shape, image, and table selected, clicking the Fill color button changes the fill color of each of these objects. –To one object from the selected objects — if the command refers to unique properties of a specific object type. Example: with a line, shape and table selected, clicking the Insert row above button will add a line to the table only. Available actions with selected objects Limitations –If a group of selected objects contains a table, you cannot fine-tune the size of cells, merge cells, or delete individual rows or columns. –You cannot simultaneously enter text from the keyboard into multiple selected objects. |
