Customize object appearance

You can customize the appearance of slides, objects (text box, image, shape, table), and table cells.

Appearance customization tools

You can customize the fill and outline of objects using the tools on the Home tab:

–For a slide, you can customize Fill color in the Design group.

–For a text box, image, and shape, you can customize Fill color and Shape outline in the Design group.

–For a table, you can customize Cell background color and Borders in the Table group.

The buttons display an option for quick application.

Quickly apply the appearance

1.Select the desired elements:

•Slide.

•One or more objects (text box, image, shape).

•Table cells or a range of cells.

2.Click the desired tool button itself.

Customize the object fill

1.Select the desired elements.

2.Click the arrow next to the Fill color button.

3.In the menu that opens, choose a color from the palette, your own color via the More colors section, or an image via the Image section.

4.If you want to remove the fill, choose No fill or No color.

Customize the object outline

1.Select one or more objects (text box, image, shape).

2.Click the arrow next to the Shape outline button.

3.In the menu that opens, select the color, thickness, and type of line.

4.If you want to remove the outline, select the No outline option.

If the outline is removed, there will be a light gray frame around the object. It is not output to print or PDF.

Customize table cell borders

1.Select one or more tables, a cell, or a range of cells.

2.Click the arrow next to the Borders button.

3.In the menu that opens, select the border type, line type, and color.

4.If you want to remove specific borders, select the border type in the first box, then select the No border option in the second box.

5.If you want to remove all borders, in the first block, select the No borders type.

If the borders are removed, the cells will be separated by light gray lines. They are not output to print or PDF.
