Change object overlay order

If you have multiple objects (text box, image, shape, table) on a slide, you can control their visibility by changing the order of overlay. You can move an object to the foreground or background relative to other elements.

Change the overlay via the toolbar

1.Select one or more objects.

2.Use one of the following methods:

•On the Home tab, in the Arrange group, click the arrow next to the Move button and select the desired overlay order.

•In the context menu, select the desired option.

•Press a keyboard shortcut to quickly change the order.

Hotkeys

–Ctrl+Shift+] (Cmd+Option+]) — move to the foreground.

–Ctrl+] (Cmd+]) — move forward (by one level).

–Ctrl+[ (Cmd+[) — move backward (by one level).

–Ctrl+Shift+[ (Cmd+Option+[) — Move to the background.
