You can revert text or object formatting that was done manually to the original formatting options of the presentation.

To do this, use the Eraser Clear formatting command on the Home tab, in the Edit group.

Rules for clearing formatting

For text and text blocks: all formatting of characters and paragraphs (font, size, color, outline, alignment, spacing, etc.) is cleared, and the text is returned to the theme styles.

For shapes and images: selecting an object clears only the formatting of the text within it. The fill, outline, and effects of the object itself are not changed.

For tables: selecting a table, cell, row, or column clears both the text formatting and the table formatting (cell fill, border/outline styles).

When multiple objects are selected: these rules are applied to each selected object according to its type.

Clear formatting

1.Select the text or object you want to clean up:

Text fragment: select this fragment.

List items: select one or more items.

Paragraph: select a paragraph or place the cursor in it.

All text within an object (shapes, images): select the object or all text within it.

Table item: select the text in a cell, the cell itself, a row, a column, or the entire table to clear text, fill, and outline formatting.

2.Use one of the following methods:

On the Home tab, in the Edit group, click Eraser Clear formatting.

Right-click the selected object or text and choose Clear formatting from the context menu.

Press the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Space (Cmd+Space).
