To create a new task, do one of the following:
•On the Menu Bar, select Events and Tasks > New Task.
•On the Menu Bar, select Events and Tasks > Calendar, in the calendar that opens, select a day, open the context menu and select New Task.
•On the Toolbar, click the button. In the menu that appears, select New > Task.
•On the Toolbar, click.
•Press Ctrl+D/⌘Cmd+D.
•Choose one of the ways to create a task on the event pane.
•To create a task based on an event, select an event in the calendar, open the context menu for it, then select Convert To > Event.
•To create a task based on a message, select a message from the list, open the context menu, select Convert To > Event.
The task creation dialog pane will appear on the screen.
On the dialog pane, configure the task fields:
•Calendar (select from the list of available existing calendars)
•Title (required parameter)
•Location
•Task time reminder settings
•The deadline for completing the task
•Task status (choose from the suggested options: Needs actions, In Process, Completed, Canceled).
•Task recurrence
•Task description
•Attachments to the task
The Reminder field contains the date and time of the event reminder. The Due Date filed contains the date and time when the event occurred. If necessary, you can link the values of these fields so that when the end date of the event changes, the reminder time shifts taking into account the duration of the task. In order to link these fields, click on the symbol indicating the linking of fields Reminder and Due Date. If the link is enabled, when changing the value of one of the fields, the value of the second one will be automatically adjusted. In the Command menu, select Options > Show Timezone. For the Reminder and Due Date fields, the time zone values will be displayed. Click the time zone label. A pop-up menu will appear on the screen containing a list of recently selected time zones. Select More Timezones to choose a different time zone. |
In the Repeat section, select the desired value from the list of the following options: •Does not repeat •Daily •Weekly •Every Weekday •Bi-weekly •Monthly •Yearly For more detailed settings in the same menu, select Custom. A dialog pane for setting the taks recurrence will be displayed on the screen. Set the frequency of task execution. Depending on the selected option, an additional settings pane will be displayed. When you select Repeat Daily, additional control elements appear on the screen allowing you to select the frequency of days (each specified day), or each day of the week. When you select Repeat Weekly, additional control elements appear on the screen allowing you to select the frequency of weeks (each given week), as well as the days of the week on which the event should occur. When you select Repeat Monthly, additional control elements appear on the screen allowing you to select the frequency of months (each specified month), as well as either each specific day of the week or specific days of the month on which the event should occur. When you select Repeat Annually, additional control elements appear on the screen allowing you to select the frequency of years (each given year), as well as either each specific day of the week or specific days of the month on which the event should occur. With any change in the frequency parameters on the Preview pane, the days on which this task will be repeated will be highlighted. |
To configure the privacy of the task, do one of the following: •On the Menu Bar, select Options > Privacy. •Click In the list that appears, select the type of privacy based on the following options: •Public Event •Show Time and Date Only •Private Event |
If the company uses Mailion mail server, adding attachments to a task is not available.
It is possible to add attachments to the task. Types of attachments: •File •Link to a web page To attach a file to a task, click To attach a web page to a task, select one of the following methods: •Select the menu item Options > Attach > Webpage. •in the attachments pane, open the context menu, then select Attach a webpage. In the dialog that opens, enter the address of the web page. It will be displayed in the Attachments pane. By right-clicking on the attachment name, a context menu appears on the screen containing the following elements: •Open: The file will be opened in the corresponding application, the link to the web page will open in the system browser. The same will happen when you double-click the attachment. •Save: A system dialog for saving the attachment to disk will open. •Copy Link Location: The link to the attachment will be copied to the clipboard. •Remove: The attachment will be removed from the task. •Remove All: All attachments will be removed from the task. |
To set the priority of a task, select the menu item Options > Priority. In the list that opens, select one of the priority options: •Low •Normal •High |
To save a new task on the task editing pane, select the menu item Task > Save. To save the task and close the dialog, select the menu item Task > Save and Close, or click |
