You can create bulleted and numbered lists in MyOffice Text. Each new item in bulleted lists is marked with a bullet, in numbered lists, it is marked with a number or letter.
You can change the style selected when creating a bulleted or numbered list. You can also convert a numbered list to a bulleted list and vice versa. To change the style of the list, follow these steps: 1.Place the cursor on any item in the list or select the entire list. 2.On the Toolbar, in the Paragraph section, click the arrow to the right of the 3.Select a style of bulleted or numbered list. |
In a list, you can customize the indents for: •Numbers or bullets •The text of the first line in the list item •The text of the second and subsequent lines Indents can be customized: •For all items of the same level. •For one or more items of the same level. In this case, at the selected level, the list will split into two lists with different formatting settings. To customize the indents, follow the steps below: 1.Specify the required items in the list: •To customize the indents for all items on the same level, place the cursor in any of these items, or select these items without sub-items. •To customize indents for one or more items in the same level, select those items without sub-items. 2.Open the List Settings window using one of the following methods: •In the Format menu, List Settings. •On the Toolbar, in the Paragraph section, click the arrow to the right of the button corresponding to the current list: •Right-click to open the context menu and select the List Settings command. 3.In the List Settings window, specify the required indents. The description of the input boxes of the List Settings window is presented in the table below. 4.Click OK.
You can also customize the indents of the bullet/number and list text using rulers. In this case: •Changing the indents using rulers does not change the values in the List Settings window. The indent values displayed on the ruler refer to the paragraph settings. •Changing the indents in the List Settings window affects the placement of markers on the ruler. The following limitations currently apply: •In the Track Changes mode, user actions to change indents in the list are not displayed as changes. •If there are unique indent settings specified in a third-party editor for one item in the list, MyOffice Text does not take these settings into account and all items of the corresponding level have the same indents. |
The current list can inherit the numbering of the previous list. To continue the numbering, follow these steps: 1.Right-click any item in the current list. 2.Select Continue numbering from the context menu. When you run the Continue numbering command, the style of the previous list is automatically selected for the current list.

If necessary, you can create a new list from a part of the numbered list. You can select list items at any level for conversion. A new list always starts with the same value as the current list. For example, if the current list starts with the number 4, the new list will start with that number. If necessary, you can manually change the numbering of the new list. The command to create a new list is not available if: •More than one list item of different levels is selected. •The first list item or the first level item is selected. To create a new list from a part of the current one, follow these steps: 1.Specify the items to create a new list in one of the following ways: •Select the list item from which you want to start a new list, or place the cursor in the list. •Select multiple items to start a new list, or all the items in the list from which you want to create a new list. The selected items should be on the same level. If the items in this level have sub-items, they will be included in the new list automatically. 2.Right-click to open the context menu and run the Restart from [start value of current list] command. |
You can change the numbering from any item in the list. For example, you can start the entire list with item 2 or place item 6 after item 3. When the value is changed, the number format cannot be changed. That is, if the first level of the list contains Roman numerals, the new value can only be specified in Roman numerals. If necessary, you can change the format of the number afterwards. The following rules apply when changing the numbering: •If you change the value for the first top-level item, the entire list is renumbered. •If you change the value for any other item in the list, the list is split. The specified value is set for the first item in the new list. To open the numbering settings window, follow the steps below: 1.Specify the items in the list to be renumbered in one of the following ways: •Select the list item from which you want to change the numbering, or place the cursor in it. •Select multiple items from which you want to change the numbering, or all items in the list for which you want to change the numbering. The selected items should be on the same level. If the selected items have sub-items, they will inherit the new numbering automatically. 2.Open the List Numbering window using one of the following methods: •On the Toolbar, in the Paragraph section, click the arrow to the right of the •Right-click to open the context menu and select the Set Start Number command. In the List Numbering window, in the Start from box, specify the starting value of the list. In the current version of the application, you can only specify Arabic numerals as a value: 1, 2, 3, and so forth. If the list uses a numbering format other than Arabic numerals, the specified numeric value is automatically converted to the appropriate format and displayed below the list as a tooltip. For example, if Roman numerals are used in the list and the value 28 is specified in the Start from box, the tooltip displays Number format: XXVIII. When entering a value, the following rules apply: •If the numbering format is numeric, only a positive numeric value or zero can be specified in the input box. •If the numbering format is alphabetic, you cannot enter a zero. •If the numbering format is numeric and the list starts with zero, when the format is changed to alphabetic, the list will start with the letter “A”. •If a long number is displayed in the tooltip text, it is truncated with an ellipsis. •In the numbering format using the Russian alphabet, the symbols “Ё”, “Й”, “Ь”, “Ъ” are not used. The “Z” value is followed by the “AA” value. •In the “one, two, ...” numbering format, cases are not supported. You can enter the value in the Start from box manually, change it using the counter, the ↑ and ↓ keyboard keys, or by scrolling the mouse wheel. One step of increasing or decreasing the value is 1. To increase or decrease the value by 10, do one of the following: •Change the value by holding Shift down. •When working in Windows or Linux, press Page Up to increase or Page Down to decrease the value. When working in macOS, press Fn+↑ to increase or Fn+↓ to decrease the value. Click OK to apply the specified value. |
You can change the format of the number in the numbered list: •For all items of the same level. •For one or more items of the same level. In this case, at the selected level, the list will split into two lists with different formats. You can change the format of the number at any level of the list. You can specify a different format for each level. To open the List Settings window, which can be used to change the number format, follow the steps below: 1.Specify the required items in the list: •If you want to change the number format for all items in the same level, place the cursor in any of these items or select these items without sub-items. •If you want to change the number format for one or more items on the same level, select those items without sub-items. 2.Open the List Settings window using one of the following methods: •In the Format menu, List Settings. •On the Toolbar, in the Paragraph section, click the arrow to the right of the •Right-click to open the context menu and select the List Settings command. In the List Settings window, in the Number Format drop-down list, select the desired format. The first character of the selected format will be displayed in the box highlighted in the figure below. For example: if the number format 1, 2, 3... is selected, the box will display the value 1. If the No numbers format is selected, a dash will be displayed in the box. If necessary, specify in the Text Before box the text you want to display before the selected format character, and in the Text After box the text you want to display after the character. For example, if the list items should have the format Item 1), Item 2), and so forth, then in the Text Before box specify the value Item, in the Text After box specify the value ). When you select the No numbers format, filling in the Text Before and/or Text After boxes is a prerequisite. You can enter any characters in the Text Before and Text After boxes, but no more than 15 characters in each box. If you have selected a multi-level numbering for a list, where the first digit indicates the main level, the second digit indicates a subsection, and the third one indicates an item within that subsection (for example, 1.1.1.), then when you select any level other than the first one, you can only change the format of that level number and the Text After (for example, change 1.1.1. to 1.1.A.)). The Text Before box displays the format of the number of the previous levels of the list, and this value is not available for editing. To save your changes, in the List Settings window, click OK. |
You can change the bullet format for any level or item in the bulleted list. Currently, you cannot select an image as a bullet. The bullet as an image created in a third-party editor is changed to the ☒ symbol.
To change the bullet format, follow these steps: 1.Specify the required items in the list: •If you want to change the bullet format for all items in the same level, place the cursor in any of these items or select these items without sub-items. •If you want to change the bullet format for one or more items on the same level, select those items without sub-items. •If you want to change the bullet format for multiple items at different levels, select those items. •If you want to change the bullet format for the entire list, select the list. 2.Open the bullet pane in one of the following ways: •On the Toolbar, in the Paragraph section, click the arrow to the right of the •Right-click to open the context menu and hover the mouse cursor over the Customize Bullet command. 3.Select a bullet from the set of standard bullet or the most recently used bullets. The None value converts the selected bulleted list items into regular paragraphs of text. In this case, paragraphs of text retain a left indentation equal to the bullet indentation at the corresponding list level.
4.If there is no suitable bullet in the set of standard and recent bullets, run the Other Bullets command. The Special Characters window opens, where you can select any other character from the fonts available in the application as a bullet. |
To change the nesting level for a single item in the list, place the cursor anywhere on the item or select the entire item. To change the nesting level for a few or all items in the list, select them in their entirety. If multiple items of different levels are selected in the list, each item is shifted one level relative to the current position. To increase the indentation, follow the steps below: •In the Format menu, select Alignment > Increase Indent. •On the Toolbar, in the Paragraph section, click •Right-click to open the context menu and run the Increase Indent command. To decrease the indentation, follow the steps below: •In the Format menu, select Alignment > Decrease Indent. •On the Toolbar, in the Paragraph section, click •Right-click to open the context menu and run the Decrease Indent command. You can also use the keyboard keys to increase or decrease the indent: 1.To change the indent of a single item in the list using the Tab, Backspace, or Delete keys, place the cursor strictly at the beginning of the item. To change the indentation for multiple items, select them in their entirety. 2.Change the indentation: •To increase the indentation, press Tab. •To reduce the indentation, when working in Windows or Linux press Backspace or Shift+Tab. When working in macOS press Delete or You cannot use keyboard shortcuts to change the nesting levels of a list located in a table.

Copying and pasting lists with preserving settings is supported within a single document or between MyOffice Text documents. To copy and paste a list, follow the steps below: 1.Turn on the display of non-printable characters. 2.Select the list from the beginning (not the end) along with the last character paragraph. When you copy lists from MyOffice Text to MyOffice Presentation, the list settings are partially preserved. When you copy lists from MyOffice Text to third-party applications and vice versa, the list settings are not saved. |
To remove the formatting of text as a list, follow these steps: 1.Select the list or list items for which you want to remove formatting. 2.On the Toolbar, in the Paragraph section, click the arrow to the right of the button corresponding to the list type: 3.Select the None formatting type. |
