The format is the main format for displaying numbers.
The following parameters can be configured for the format:
•Digit grouping separator display
•Number of characters displayed after the dot (.) delimiter
•Negative number presentation type.
To make it easier to read large numbers, enable the display of the digit group separator. A comma is used as the separator character. For example, the number 123456.00 with a separator is displayed as 123,456.00. To separate groups of digits in numbers, follow these steps: 1.Select the cell or range of cells that contain the required numbers. 2.Run the command in one of the following ways: •On the Toolbar, in the section, click . •Open the number format settings window, select the format and select . •Press + +. If a format other than is applied to the selected cell, the following happens when the option is selected: •Сell format changes to . •Digit groups are separated. •Number of decimal places increases/decreases to two (default value). The button is always active. That means that before entering data into a cell, you can quickly apply the format to the cell and configure the display of the digit group separator. |
The number of characters displayed in numbers after the decimal point can be reduced or increased. By default, two characters are displayed after the decimal point. To do this, follow these steps: 1.Select the cell or range of cells that contain the required numbers. 2.Configure the display in one of the following ways: •On the Toolbar, in the section, click or . •Open the number format settings window, select the format and specify the required using the counter. When the number of characters decreases, the last visible digit is automatically rounded depending on the character to be hidden. Rounding is performed according to standard rules. If the General, Date, Time, Date and time, Fraction or Text format, clicking or will result in the following: • format is applied to the cell. •Number of decimal places increases/decreases relatively to the default value of two decimal places. The and buttons are always active. That means that before entering data into a cell, you can quickly apply the format to the cell and adjust the number of characters that will be displayed in numbers after the decimal point. |
