To delete one or more characters in a cell, use one of the following methods:

Place the cursor after the characters you want to delete. Delete them by successively pressing Delete on the keyboard.

Place the cursor before the characters you want to delete. Delete them by successively pressing Fn+Delete on the keyboard.

To delete a word or its part in a cell, do one of the following:

Place the cursor after the specific part of a word or after the word that you want to delete and press command Cmd/alt Option+Delete on the keyboard.

Place the cursor before the specific part of a word or after the word that you want to delete and press command Cmd/alt Option+Fn+Delete on the keyboard.

To delete some text in a cell, do the following:

1.Select the desired text.

2.Press Delete or Fn+Delete on the keyboard.

To clear the content of the cell, do the following:

1.Select the cell or range to be cleared of data.

2.Press Delete on the keyboard.

In case filters are applied or columns or rows are manually hidden, only the contents of visible cells are cleared.
