You can password protect a .pptx, .odp, or .xodp document that you want to restrict user access to. Users are prompted for a password when they open a document.

You cannot work with password-protected documents in the Cloud.

If a document is password-protected in a third-party application, it is handled in the same way as a password-protected document in MyOffice Presentation.

Set a password

To set a password to open a document, follow the steps below:

1.Open the document you want to protect with a password.

2.In the File menu, click Set Password.

3.In the Set Password window that appears, enter a password for the document and confirm it.

For security reasons, all characters in passwords are replaced with dots. To display the password characters, click the show_password_gray in the corresponding input field.

4.Click OK.

Once the verification is successfully completed, you will see a notification confirming the entered passwords match. Save the document to confirm the changes.

Next time the document is opened, you will be requested to enter a password prior to displaying the document content.

Change a password

To change a password to open a document, follow the steps below:

1.Open the document for which you want to change the password.

2.In the File menu, click Manage Password.

3.In the Manage Password window that appears, click Change Password.

4.In the Change password window, enter the current password, the new password, and a confirmation of the new password.

For security reasons, all characters in passwords are replaced with dots. To display the password characters, click the show_password_gray in the corresponding input field.

5.Click Done.

Once the verification is successfully completed, you will see a notification confirming the entered passwords match. Save the document to confirm the changes.

Remove password

To remove a password to open a document, follow the steps below:

1.Open the document for which you want to remove the password.

2.In the File menu, click Manage Password.

3.In the Manage Password window that appears, click Remove Password.

4.In the Remove Password window, enter the current password and click Done.

Open a document with a password

When you open a password-protected document, a prompt appears asking you to enter the password. Enter your password and click ОК to confirm.

If the password is valid, the document will open in MyOffice Presentation.

If the password is incorrect, the message “Incorrect password” will be displayed. Click the show_password button to display the password characters and identify the cause of the error. Then re-enter the password.

You are not limited to the number of attempts to enter the password.
