A template file fully duplicates the original file and is used as a reference for creating other files. Templates are convenient to use if you need to create a number of documents which share the same contents or formatting settings.

To create a template, do the following:

1.Open the file that you want to use as a template.

2.In the Command menu, select File and click Save as Template.

3.In the window that appears, select the template name and location. Click Save.
