If you want to limit the access to a document, you can protect it with a password. Users will be requested to enter the password as they open the document.

Note:

When exporting a document to PDF, the password is automatically deleted.

Password-protected documents are not supported in the Cloud.

If a document is password-protected in a third-party application, it will be processed in the same way as a password-protected document in "MyOffice Text".

Set Password

1.Open the document you want to protect with a password.

2.On the File menu, click Set Password.

3.In the Set Password window that appears, enter a password to the document and confirm it.

For security reasons, all characters in passwords are replaced with dots. To display the characters of the password, click show_password in the right end of the input field.

4.Click OK to set password, or click Cancel to abort the process.

Once the verification is successfully completed, you will see a notification confirming the entered passwords match. Save the document to apply changes.

Next time the document is opened, you will be requested to enter a password prior to displaying the document content.

Change Password

1.Open the document for which you want to change the password.

2.On the File menu, click Manage Password.

3.In the Manage Password window that appears, click Change Password.

4.Enter current password followed by the new password and confirm this change.

For security reasons, all characters in passwords are replaced with dots. To display the characters of the password, click show_password in the right end of the input field.

5.Click Done.

Once verification is successfully completed, you will see a notification confirming the entered data match. Save the document to apply the changes.

Remove Password

1.Open the document for which you want to remove the password.

2.On the File menu, click Manage Password.

3.In the Manage Password window that appears, click Remove Password.

4.Enter current password and click Done.

Open document with password

When you open a password-protected document, a prompt appears asking you to enter the password. Enter your password and click ОК to confirm. The password you entered will be verified. If the password is valid, the document will open in the editor. If the password you entered is incorrect, you will be prompted to try again.

The number of password attempts is unlimited.
