Create from the selected range

To create a range of filtering from the selected range, follow these steps:

1.Select the range of cells containing the data to be filtered.

The range cannot consist of one line.

2.Activate the filtering option for the range in one of the following ways:

On the Home tab, in the Data, click editor_filter_icon Filter.

On the Data tab, click editor_filter_icon Filter.

Right-click the selected range and select Filter from the context menu.

Press Ctrl+Shift+L (Windows, Linux) or ⌘Cmd+⇧Shift+L (macOS).

The selected range becomes filterable. A green frame appears around the range of filtering, and the editor_filter_on_drop_active Sort and filter buttons appear in the cells of the top row of the range. However, the top row of the range is not included in the filtering and sorting.

Create from an automatically determined range

MyOffice Spreadsheet can automatically determine the range of filtering, for example, when a single cell within a data region or an empty cell adjacent to the range is selected. When you select a cell within a data area, the entire area will be defined as the range of filtering. When selecting an empty cell adjacent to the data area, the row or column containing the empty cell will also be included in the range of filtering. The data in the cells can be of any type.

To create a range of filtering from an automatically defined range, do the following:

1.Select a cell within the data area or an empty cell adjacent to the area.

2.Activate the filtering option for the range using one of the methods described above.
