How can we help you?

You can group data in such a way as to create one or more groups of rows or columns. This can be convenient for analyzing and displaying large amounts of data.

To group, select the rows or columns that need to be grouped, and do one of the following:

On the Home tab, in the Cells group, click the t_sheet_group Group button or click the arrow to the right of the t_sheet_group Group button and select Group rows or Group columns.

On the Page layout tab, click the t_sheet_group Group button or click the arrow to the right of the t_sheet_group Group button and select Group rows or Group columns.

Right-click the heading of the selected rows or columns and select Group rows or Group columns from the context menu.

Press Alt+Shift+. In the window that opens, click Group rows or Group columns.

Data groups cannot overlap, but can be nested within each other. You can create up to 7 levels of groups in a table.

The group levels are collapsed and expanded using the buttons located in the upper-left corner of the table. When all the groups in the table are collapsed, all the ungrouped data is displayed. Clicking the 2 button displays all 1st level groups. Clicking the 3 button displays all 2nd level groups. Clicking the 4 button displays all 3rd level groups, etc. When all groups are expanded, clicking the 3 button collapses all 3rd level groups. Clicking the 2 button collapses all 2nd level groups. Clicking the 1 button collapses all 1st level groups.

Buttons for hide_group collapsing and show_group expanding individual groups are located next to these groups.

When collapsing a group, its last row or column always remains visible. As a rule, the group final data is contained here. The headings of the final rows and columns are colored gray.

To ungroup the data, follow these steps:

1.Select the rows/columns for which you want to clear the grouping.

2.Remove the grouping in one of the following ways:

On the Home tab, in the Cells group, click the arrow to the right of the t_sheet_group Group button and select Clear grouping.

On the Page layout tab, click the arrow to the right of the t_sheet_group Group button and select Clear grouping.

Press Alt+Shift+.
