Mailing lists are used to send a single e-mail to a group of contacts.
Any contact with a valid e-mail address can be added to a mailing list.
The application allows you to create mailing lists in your local address books without restrictions. For CardDAV address books, support for creating mailing lists depends on server capabilities. For LDAP directories, the creation of contact groups is performed by the server administrator.
Create a mailing list
To add a distribution list to an address book:
1.On the Address Book tab, click the New List button. The New Mailing List window opens.
2.Select the address book in which the mailing list will be created.
3.Fill in the List Name, List Nickname, and Description fields.
4.Enter the desired addresses into the list at the bottom of the window.
5.Click the OK button.
The mailing list will be created in the selected address book.
To quickly create a mailing list:
1.Select multiple contacts in the Contact List. The available action buttons will appear in the Contact View Area.
2.Click the New List button. The New Mailing List window will open.
3.Fill in the required fields as described above.
4.Click the OK button.
A mailing list with the selected contacts will be created.
Add contacts to a mailing list
To quickly add contacts to a mailing list:
1.Create a mailing list as described above without entering email addresses.
2.In the Address Book Pane, select the address book with the contacts you want to add to the mailing list.
3.From the Contact List, select one or more contacts.
4.Drag and drop the selected contacts onto the line of the desired mailing list in the Address Book Pane.
The contacts will be added to the mailing list.
Edit a mailing list
To edit the selected mailing list:
1.From the context menu of the mailing list, select Edit List.
2.Edit the required data: List Name, List Nickname, Description.
3.If you want to remove an address from the list, click on the address row and clear it completely.
4.If you want to add an address to the list, click the empty line and enter the desired address.
5.Click OK.
The mailing list and the addresses in it will be saved.
Delete a mailing list
To delete a mailing list:
1.In the Address Book Pane, select the address book from which you want to delete the mailing list.
2.In the context menu of the mailing list, select Delete or press Del and confirm the action.
The mailing list will be deleted from the address book.
Create an e-mail for contacts in a mailing list
To send an e-mail to the contacts in the mailing list:
1.On the Mail tab, click the Create button. The Message Composition Window will open.
2.If there is no Contacts pane in the Message Composition Window, enable it by clicking the Contacts button.
3.In the Contacts pane, in the Address Book list, select the address book that contains the mailing list.
4.Select the desired mailing list.
5.Click the Add to To, Add to Cc, or Add to Bcc button to add the mailing list to the corresponding field.
6.If you want to move the mailing list to another field, drag the list with the mouse to the desired field.
7.If you want to split the added mailing list into separate addresses, select Expand List from the mailing list context menu.
8.Enter the text of your message and click Send.
The e-mail will be sent to the addresses in the mailing list.
