Connect a CardDAV address book

CardDAV address books are based on the open CardDAV protocol for remote synchronization of contacts. They allow you to store address data on an external server and synchronize it between devices. CardDAV address books provide access to contacts from any device connected to the address book.

To connect an address book using the CardDAV protocol:

1.On the Address Book tab, from the context menu of the New Address Book button, select Add CardDAV Address Book. The New CardDAV Address Book window will open.

7.Select the check boxes of the desired address books.

Connect an LDAP address book

LDAP address books use the LDAP protocol to access corporate or organizational contact directories. They allow you to search and use contacts from a centralized directory system. These address books are useful in a corporate environment for sharing common address data.

To connect an LDAP contact directory:

1.From the context menu of the New Address Book button, select Add LDAP Address Book.

2.In the New LDAP Directory window, specify the settings provided by your system administrator.

3.Click OK.

The LDAP address book will be connected and synchronized with the server.
