Set the indent of the first line

The indent marker for the first line is displayed as a blue rectangle on the horizontal ruler.

You can change the indentation of the first line in text or in a list. In a list, the indent of the first line changes the position of the number or bullet.

To change the indent of the first line, follow these steps:

  1. Select the desired text:

    • To change the indent for a single paragraph or list item, place the cursor in it or select the entire paragraph or list item.
    • To change the indent for multiple paragraphs or multiple list items on the same level, select them in their entirety.

  2. Hold down the left mouse button on the marker and drag it to the desired position.

  3. Release the left mouse button to set the new indent of the first line.

You can also set the indent of the first line using the Paragraph settings window.
