General Questions​

What file formats are supported?​

MyText supports reading and editing files in DOCX, ODT, DOC, RTF, TXT formats. Export is available in PDF and EPUB.

What operating systems does MyText run on?​

MyText runs on Windows, Linux (including Russian distributions: Astra Linux, ALT Linux, RED OS) and macOS.

How do I update MyText to the latest version?​

Updates are performed through the corporate software management system or by downloading a new version from the MyOffice website. For individual users — through the built-in update mechanism (Help → Check for updates).

Working with Documents​

How do I save a document as PDF?​

Select File → Export to PDF or press Ctrl+Shift+S and choose the PDF format.

How do I paste text without formatting?​

Use Ctrl+Shift+V to paste text without preserving the original formatting.

How do I recover an unsaved document?​

If the application was closed unexpectedly, on the next launch MyText will offer to recover auto-saved document versions. You can also check the auto-recovery folder: Settings → Auto-recovery → File location.

How do I open a document created in Microsoft Word?​

Simply open a .docx or .doc file via File → Open. MyText provides compatibility with Microsoft Word formats. Some complex formatting elements may display with minor differences.

Why did the document open in "Read Only" mode?​

Reasons:

  • The file is password-protected from changes
  • The file is opened by another user (during collaboration)
  • You don't have editing permissions for the file in cloud storage

Formatting​

How do I create an automatic table of contents?​

  1. Make sure document headings are formatted with "Heading 1", "Heading 2" styles, etc.
  2. Place the cursor at the insertion point
  3. Select References → Table of Contents

How do I change line spacing?​

Select text → Format → Paragraph → in the Line Spacing section, choose the desired value (single, 1.5, double, or exact value in points).

Macros and Automation​

Are VBA macros supported?​

VBA macros are not supported. Lua is used for automation. More details in the Macros section.

Can I convert VBA macros to Lua?​

Automatic conversion is not supported. Macros need to be rewritten in Lua manually.

Collaboration​

How do I edit a document together with colleagues?​

For collaborative editing, the document must be placed in the MyFiles cloud storage. More details: Cloud Work.

Can I work with a document offline?​

Yes, MyText is fully functional in offline mode. When working through the cloud, changes are synchronized when the connection is restored.
