Unprotect sheet

If the sheet is protected from editing, the icon is displayed on the sheet tab. To remove the protection, you may need to enter a password.

To remove the protection from the sheet, follow these steps:

1. Click the sheet tab.

2. Open the Manage protection pane in one of the following ways:

   • On the Protection tab, click  Unprotect sheet.
   • Right-click the sheet tab and select Unprotect sheet from the context menu.

3. In the Manage protection pane, on the Sheet tab:

   • If the sheet is password-protected, enter the password and click Unprotect.
   • If the sheet is not password-protected, click Unprotect.

4. To close the Manage protection pane, do one of the following:

   • At the top of the pane, click .
   • On the Sidebar, click  Manage protection.
