Customize shape appearance

You can customize the appearance of individual shapes.

The Shape fill and Shape outline tools are located on the Home tab, in the Shape group. The buttons show the current setting for quick reapplication.

Quickly apply a shape fill or outline​

  1. Select the shape.
  2. Click the Shape fill or Shape outline button.

Customize shape fill​

  1. Select the shape.
  2. Click the arrow next to the Shape fill button.
  3. From the menu, select a color or image for the fill.
  4. To remove the fill, select No fill.

Customize the shape outline​

  1. Select the shape.
  2. Click the arrow next to the Shape outline button.
  3. From the menu, select the color, weight, and line style.
  4. To remove the outline, select No outline.

When the outline is removed, a light gray guide frame is displayed around the object. This frame is not printed or included in PDFs.
